Additional candidates on the ballot

“Some Buncombe County voters will have additional candidates on their ballot for upcoming elections. The North Carolina General Assembly passed House Bill 400 on Nov. 30, 2021, that changes the Asheville City Board of Education from an appointed Board to a Board with elected members and increases the membership of that Board from five to seven members.

Candidate filing for these new positions starts Monday, Dec. 6 and runs through Dec. 17.”
