OLLI at UNC Asheville, will have a free lunch and learn lecture on The National Popular Vote on Friday, November 11th, from 11:30 am to 1:15 pm.

For all but one of the 500,000+ elected offices in the U.S., the winner is the candidate with the most votes. The exceptions are the president and vice president of the U.S. Suzanne Fisher, president of the League of Women Voters Asheville-Buncombe County, will discuss issues created by the “winner take all” method of voting, the effects of battleground-states campaigning and how a national popular vote both would retain the Electoral College and ensure that every vote in every state would be relevant in every presidential election.
