NC LWV Addresses Pandemic Voting Issues

The North Carolina League of Women Voters has joined with Democracy-NC, ACLU of NC, and five other organizations in making recommendations to the NC State Board of Elections to ensure election continuity and voting access in the time of COVID-19.

The recommendations include making changes in the design and administration of absentee ballots to make sure all voters have the opportunity to vote by mail and developing plans for moving toward an all-mail election. We also address sanitation at polling places, beefing up curbside voting, recruitment of poll workers, and actions to move us closer to online voter registration.

It is important that funding be provided by the legislature to provide for orderly and fair elections processes in these uncertain times.
